# 5: Kentucky Basketball Preview 2010-11

Overall rank: # 5Conference place: Southeastern Conference # 12009-10: 35-3, 14-2 postseason 2009-10: NCAA coach: John Calipari (35-3 at Kentucky, 480-143) Kentucky can't win 35 games this year with a whole lot of rebuilding to do. But this is how things will work in Kentucky with coach John Calipari's helm. Every year there will be some players that are around for one season before they head off into THE NBA. Each year, coach Calipari will restart weather some early season struggles to compete for the title of the Conference and be extremely dangerous, group. Lost keys:(G) Eric Bledsoe, cousins DeMarcus F, G, G Ramona Darnell Dodson, F Harris, Daniel Orton, F Patrick Patterson, F Perry Stevenson, John wall key newbies: each newcomer in Kentucky will be key to a newbie. In the backcourt Wildcats add Brandon Knight, Doron Lamb and Jarrod Polson. Knight has work on replacing John wall. It sounds like appointment but Knight is a tight player who can do it all. 6-3 Freshman can attack the basket, but he does his best work, setting up his team and what you want him to Kentucky. Lamb may become a starting role right away because of a lack of other alternatives. It is not so much a shooter, but attack the basket and the Lamb will knock down mid range jumper with a sequence. Perhaps more important to this young team is his intelligence. Knight will be the leader with the ball, but the Lamb can help the team move up and down the floor remained under control.Backcourt: has more advanced options in the backcourt. Darius Miller is the lone returning starter and served from the limelight of the bunch. It can be again with so much talent, headed in Lexington, but Miller is ready to become a leader on the floor. 6-7 Jr. 6.5 points 2.4 rebounds and 5 assists 1. last year, and must be prepared to see all these numbers increase. DeAndre Liggins bow much even with more features, but it was a great defender and 6-6 Junior averaging over 15 minutes per game last season. He must fill this role nicely over the 2010-2011. John Hood was borne out of court during his first season due to the immense talent around him. However, if his outside shot is falling, the thin man could become a solid RolePlayer argument.Frontcourt: Josh Harrellson is lone returning forward, and he averaged a mere 4.0 minutes per game in the 22 contests a year ago. 6-10 Senior that roster is only senior have done pretty well when he was in the game, but it is clear that he wasn't in the game too often. Most of the production comes from beginners in the frontcourt. Stacy pool-athlete amazing and great defender, which should become a thin small forward. Terrence Jones and Eloy Vargas more guys. On 6-9 and 210 pounds Jones looks forward, but it can play both guard too. It's a nightmare up four match and must explicitly provides a starting role. Eloy Vargas, junior college, who spent some time in Florida, the volume up a bit and now has the muscle to compete with anyone in SEC. to watch: because now Vargas is penciled in as a starter in the five, but that will change quickly if incoming freshman Enes Kanter manages to play this season. Kanter is a well polished post player who is a superb rebounder who can run the floor and finish with ease. If you can play Kanter, Kentucky will have profound frontcourt. If not, they have lost their best recruits and all Kentucky can do currently waiting for THE NCAA to amateur status.Final forecast: so much depends on Kanter. It is an interior player who really can replace DeMarcus cousins, Patrick Patterson and Daniel Orton in the paint. Jones Vargas and Harrellson simply cannot handle all the protocols in four and five points. This causes the coach John Calipari play small. Play small won't be that bad, because this group has the athleticism, do it, but this would be a much better team with Kanter.Predictions post season tournament:NCAA forecast starting five: guard, DNP, Brandon Knight, freshman last seasonDoron Lamb, freshman, guard, NAM last seasonDarius Miller, Liu, guard 6.5 ppgTerrence Jones, freshman, forward, NAM last seasonEloy Vargas Junior forward, NAM last season
